National Rowing Championships

Last week 24 boys competed at the national rowing championships at the Sydney international regatta centre in Penrith. Canberra Grammar was represented in 17 crews in ten different events. The haul of six medals was our best national championships to date and was the direct result of the efforts of the boys, coaches and parents throughout the season. The CGS medal haul included:

Bronze Medal (Field of 21 Crews)
U17 quad scull without cox
Nick Purnell, Mat Barnier, Angus Moore Nick Wadham and Tom Ethell

Bronze Medal (Field of 42)
U19 Single scull
Nick Barnier

Bronze Medal (Field of 48)
Schoolboy single scull
Nick Barnier

Silver Medal (Field of 13)
Schoolboy quad scull
Samuel Lawrence, Anthony Tridgell, James Hart, Peter McColl and William Vickers
