In Kindergarten at both Northside and Southside, the children are reading a number of books by the Australian author, Alison Lester. It is part of a unit of work entitled “IDENTIFYING US” and encourages the children to look at the different community and sporting groups to which they belong. The children particularly enjoyed the story of ‘Ruby’ and as a follow-up wrote about their own bravery. They then made their own “Bluebird of Bravery” medallions to celebrate their own courage.
Connor “I was very brave when I had an injection”.
Sachi “I was brave when I burnt my leg”.
Brendan “I was brave when I saw a shark.”
Corinne “I was very brave when I went underwater when I was four, without goggles”.
