Will Haines stars in Sydney Shakespeare production |

Will Haines, Year 11 Sheaffe, is among 35 young creative artists from across Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain, appearing this weekend in a performance of Shakespeare's rarely performed play 'Timon of Athens'.
Will has won the lead in the production and as Timon will say 600 lines and give seven monologues.
Will was selected for the Shakespeare Globe Centre Australia's 2007 National Youth Company's production after he and Robert Selth, Year 11 Burgmann, won the ACT section of the National Shakespeare Featival in August. The boys performed a dialogue from 'Julius Caesar'.
Performances of 'Timon of Athens' are being staged at the Bondi Pavilion Theatre at 5pm and 8pm on Saturday 29 September and at 12 noon on Sunday 30 September. Bookings: 1300 306 776.

Australian Mathematics Competition |

The results for the Australian Mathematics Competition for the WESTPAC awards have been received and congratulations go to all Grammar boys that took part in the competition. Each year over 400,000 students from across the Asia-Pacific region compete for the WESTPAC awards.
Overall our results were very impressive. Collectively all year groups (4-12) exceeded the mean A.C.T scores. 5 boys received Prizes, 22 received High Distinctions (top 2%) and 97 received Distinctions (top 15%).
Special congratulations go to Prize winners Ben Mynott, John Freeman, Scott Murn, Andrew Davidson and Shaun Hagen. Tony Zhang receives the Prudence award for the highest number of consecutive correct responses.

The Maths Engineering Team won honours at the Southside Regional Finals and will go on to compete in the ACT Finals in three weeks. A team from the Girls' School is also going through to the finals in this section.

High Distinctions in Economics |

Years 11 and 12 Economics and Business Studies students recently competed in the Australian and New Zealand Economics and Business Studies Competitions. 2007 results were very strong. 17 High Distinctions and 35 Distinctions were awarded to a smaller cohort than that which participated in 2006. 7 students also received cash prizes for achieving results in the top 2.5% of both competitions.
Angus Phal, Hariharan Sekhar, Anthony Maginness, Jesse Kennedy, Jeremy Smith- Roberts, Rahul Bedi and Alex McConachie will now be presented to the Headmaster.
