Experience China with CGS
Monday, 06 November 2006
September/October 2007

Be part of the 2007 CGS tour of China to 1st October Middle School, Beijing.

See the sights of Shanghai and Beijing and travel to fascinating places such as the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, all the time experiencing a culture unlike any you have known.

Spend time at 1st October Middle School and become a “Chinese student”!  On these nights, to add to your Asian experience, you will be accommodated by a Chinese family or within the school boarding house.

An information evening will be held in the International Centre foyer on Tuesday, November 14 from 6.30pm to 8pm. Please advise the International Centre Secretary, Leanne Pugh, 62609766, of your intention to attend (for catering purposes). Tea/coffee will be available.

Congratulations to Ben Treffers
Friday, 03 November 2006

NSW swim scholarship holder, Ben Treffers, Year 9, met a whose-who of Australian swimming at a coach-swimmer camp on the Gold Coast during the holidays. Ben says: It was awesome to have the opportunity to train with world-class athletes, doing the same programs, and getting to know them.
Among his many memorable moments were swimming in the same lane as Grant Hackett and training with coaches Glenn Baker and Greg Salter.

On the first weekend of Term 4, Ben was chosen to represent NSW against QLD in the State of Origin meet. He put in a great performance in
all  events and set an ACT record in the 50m fly, achieving another big personal best of 26.81 seconds.
