This week in the Primary School class 5E and Madame Daniell visited Year 1 at Southside to read and share some of the French books they have made this year. The older boys have been studying a unit of work on animals and they each wrote and illustrated their own French picture book. The Year 5 boys enjoyed the visit and even taught some of the younger students some French animal names and numbers. Bon effort!

Pre Kindergarten have been working really hard all year on a variety of THRASS activities, including learning phonemes and letter formation. This term the children have been working on writing their own stories based around classroom events. We hold a class story telling session first, hearing each child’s own story. Then the children draw a picture to illustrate their story then write their story underneath. They even highlight the start of a sentence in green and the full stop in red! The children use many common sight words and they really enjoy reading and sharing their stories with one another. Each child will make their own book full of their stories to keep.
