Northside Christmas Capers took place this week with children making hanging candles for a present, mini Christmas cakes, gum leaf Christmas cards, Christmas tree decorations and decorated the invitations for the Christmas Concert. Our thanks go to the many mums and dads who enjoyed these activities with us and to Patsy Murray for coming and helping us by working with the children.
Northside's 'make a wish' Christmas cake morning was a great success. Thanks to all the parents of Northside we had ample ingredients and our intrepid mums Jenine Westerburg, Rosemary Thompson, Dot Barclay and Madeleine Robson every child had a stir and a wish. We thank them for their time and effort. Each child had their photo taken and these are available if you would like a copy.
The cakes will be cooked by the mums and served by the Year 2 children at our end of year picnic and concert.

|
Friday, 17 November 2006 |
|
On Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th of November new boys to the school in 2007 experienced a range of "taster lessons" to prepare them for what life in the Junior School might be like. The action packed days included Treasure hunts, speeches from current students, a range of specialist lessons and a sausage sizzle lunch. The boys left each day excited about what is ahead of them and exhausted by the range of opportunities which confronted them.

Arnhem Land Excursion for 2007 |
|
Friday, 17 November 2006 |
A rare opportunity is available to a minimum of 10 students (preferably from Year 9 / 2006) to visit the Ngukurr community on the Roper River in South Eastern Arnhem land. This is a unique opportunity to develop a relationship with indigenous people and experience their lives. This is not an opportunity open to the general public. The trip includes 8 days in the Ngukurr community and a week taking in Darwin, Kakadu National Park and Katherine Gorge.
The cost of the trip is $3000-00. This includes all expenses except for meals in Darwin at the beginning and end of the trip.
If you wish to undertake an incredibly rich cultural experience indicate your interest by contacting Mr Dunbar by e-mail:
