SOUTHSIDE CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2006

The staff and children of Southside Infants’ invite staff, families and friends to their End of year presentation of the rock musical “Away in a Manger” by Roger Jones.

To accommodate all of the Southside families, two performances will be held.  One will be a Matinee performance on the 29 November at 1.00PM and the other is an evening performance on 30 November at 6.30PM.  All children perform in both events.

Kindergarten and Year One children will be handed their Graduation Certificates by Mr Ralf Furse and Mrs Rosalie Reeves at the end of the matinee performance on 29 November at 1.00PM.

We hope to see all Kindergarten and Year One children at this performance.

YEAR 2 ANGELS

Personal invitations are being posted this week to all Southside families so that they can be present at our end of year presentation a rock musical by Roger Jones called "Away in a Manger"
The children are well prepared for the work and are excitedly looking forward to the two concerts.  We hope to see Kindergarten and Year One parents at the Matinee Performance on November 29 at 1.00PM and the Year Two parents at the evening performance on November 30 at 6.30PM.  All children will perform in both concerts. Our Parents and Friends Group are inviting the Kindergarten and Year One parents to have a picnic tea in the grounds of Southside during the evening performance

KINDERGARTEN IS A CHOIR OF ANGELS!
These two angelic creatures will be centre stage during the performances of "Away in a Manger" which will be held in the CGS Performing Arts Centre on 29 November at 1.00PM primarily for Kindergarten and Year One parents to observe and then again on the evening of the 30 November at 6.30PM for Year Two parents. Please remember to dress your Kindergarten child in white underwear as angels wear fabric of such translucent quality we would not want anything "dark" to spoil the illusion.  Children can wear sandals on their feet.  These will need to be labelled and brought to school in a bag for next week. Their costumes are all at school and children will change into them just prior to their performances. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all there!

AND THE WINNER IS......
Saturday, 25 November 2006

Congratulations to David Anorov (Year 9, Edwards) who has won the Grammar website iPod competition. David's entry was the first entry to be drawn which correctly answered all 10 questions on the quiz, and he has won himself a brand new 1 GB iPod Shuffle. When David was asked about his thoughts on the new website, he commented "I think the new website is great, and when I first saw it I was quite amazed". David also found the competition as a great way to learn about the school "all the information was put together so well that it was interesting to find out these facts about the school, and its history".

Thank you to all students who entered the iPod competition, and also all the students, parents, guardians, old boys, staff, and community members who have provided feedback on the website. We are constantly making changes and improvements to the website based on your feedback. Recent improvements include simplifying how you can subscribe to RSS feeds, re-formatting the calendars to make them printer-friendly, and improved styling on various website pages.

Pre School Yellow have Northside visit
Friday, 24 November 2006
Northside Pre Kindergarten children crossed the lake to visit their friends in Pre School Yellow at the ELC. We had shared lunch time together and had a play outside before returning indoors for songs and fun activities. Lachlan in Pre School Yellow and Thomas from Northside had a great time making collaged pictures. We feel very lucky that even though we are not at the same campus that we all belong to Canberra Grammar School and can have these special times together.
