The School is proud to congratulate Old Boy, Matthew Purcell ('01), for winning the ANU's annual A D Barton Award for 2006. The $250 cash prize is presented to a student who submits the best thesis for a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours.

Matthew said he was honoured to receive the award, and all the hard work he put in last year was well worth the effort. He is currently working with his Honour's supervisor to revise the thesis for publication in academic journals.

Matthew works one day per week in the School's Economic Department, and is also the project manager for the planning, development, and ongoing maintenance of our new website.
