Canberra Grammar School is a company limited by guarantee and as such, is subject to the appropriate legislation of the Companies' Act and the regulations of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. The School is governed by a Board of Directors. The Visitor to the School is the Bishop of the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn. The Bishop in Council appoints the majority of the Directors, including the Chairman and Deputy Chairman. Other positions are appointment related and comprise the Headmaster, the nominees of the Old Boys' Union, the Parents and Friends' Association and the teaching staff and the Board Secretary. Three directors are elected to the Board by the members of the company. The Board meets at least eight times each year and has a number of committees including the Finance and Investment Committee, the Education Committee and the Development Committee. Board committees meet as required and meetings are usually more frequent than meetings of the full Board. CGS Board of Directors Visitor: The Right Revd. George V. Browning
