Calling All Thespians
We need actors of all shapes sizes and experience for the exciting co-curricular opportunities in Drama we offer throughout the year.
Boys may audition for plays in Term 1, Term 2 and Term 4. Plays usually have cast sizes from between 10 and 30 and often include girls from Canberra Girls Grammar School.
If boys love the theatre but are not interested in stage roles, the drama department also holds training courses for technical crew. Lighting and Sound boys are needed for a number of school activities held in the Performing Arts Centre in addition to working on particular productions.
Seeing the Head of Drama can get you started in this area of co-curricular activity.
Opportunities also exist to support productions through front of house activities. Selling tickets, serving interval drinks and ushering. Boys interested in this work can see the Front of House Captain for more information.
Other exciting opportunities for Co-curricular drama students include the Mindmatters Drama Festival and the Showpod.
Film competitions
For budding film makers the Drama department offers two film festivals.
Celsius: A film competition in Term 3.
Flashfilm: Films under 7 minutes in duration made as school work or independent projects.
Details for this competition and festival are usually made available in late Term 2. Entries in these activities have led to further exposure at Canberra wide film festivals.

CHARLIE'S AUNT
Drama Auditions - Charlie's Aunt
Charlie's Aunt is a Brandon Thomas play about two schoolboys who convince an older chum to masquerade as their aged female relation and chaperone so they can court their sweeties undisturbed.
Auditions for this next co-curricular production will be held in the PAC Drama Studio Week 5.
You will only need to attend one of these sessions (and not necessarily for the full session):
Monday 2nd of March at 3.45-5.30pm; or
Tuesday 3rd of March at 3.45-5.30pm.
