Cricket

The Canberra Grammar Cricket Association exists to celebrate and promote the glorious game of cricket.

Not surprisingly, cricket is immensely popular at our School and parents, past and present, teachers, old boys and current students of all ages are part of our friendly, enthusiastic, cricketing community.

Our Association supports cricket at all levels in the School - primarily by assisting the Masters in Charge of Cricket in both the senior and junior schools, and by contributing financially to the cost of initiatives including:

  • external specialist coaching by ANU 1st Grade and ACT Comet players so that all boys can improve their cricket skills.
  • a subsidy to each boy attending the Bradman cricket camps in Bowral.
  • capital expenditure such as re-surfacing of synthetic pitches, shade tents and contribution to the erection of the main oval scoreboard.

We are all looking forward to another exciting season of cricket - and to some wonderful social and fundraising events.

Details of these events and of Association meetings will be posted to this site together with regular season reports, lots of other cricketing information and perhaps some trivia for the diehards!!.

Everyone is welcome to join us and we look forward to receiving suggestions on how we can improve Cricket at CGS Cricket and your ideas on how we should spend our money.

Of course if you are interested in sponsoring CGS Cricket in any way we would be delighted to talk to you. In line with the School's new sponsorship policy we aim to provide tangible benefits to our sponsors.
