Minutes from previou Association meeting:

6th of March 2012

The Canberra Grammar School Rowing Association:

  •  Assists the CGS in the promotion of Schoolboy Rowing at the school and running of Regattas
  •  Raises funds for the use by the Rowing Association through catering at a variety of home Regatta and a major fundraising activity.
  • Provide catering for the Rowers at 'away' regattas.

These funds are spent on equipment and activities that directly benefit CGS rowers.

In the past, funds raised by the Association have been spent on things such as:

  • Purchasing of boats to assist with the School boat replacement programme.
  • Purchasing of other additional equipment including Cox Boxes
  • Providing a ‘Welcome Breakfast’ for rowers and their families
  • Financial support for crews selected to attend the Australian National Rowing Championships

As with all school sport, parental involvement is paramount.  The CGS Rowing Association

Coordinates the parent support group  through nominated  ' year co-ordinators '  in assisting with Regattas, catering (both at home and away

Events). Support the MIC Rowing  to enable him to concentrate on the delivery of boy’s rowing programme.

We generally meet on the second Tuesday of every month in the CGS School  Boardroom. (Subject to

Committee availability and scheduling of school holidays)

The Association consists of all parents of CGS Rowers, elected officeholders and the Masters-in-charge of Rowing.

Current officeholders are:
