| First Match Report |
|
Wow! What a start to the rugby season for U9 Blue playing at Flinders Oval on Saturday morning. In our first game we came up against a very sizable Vikings White team. The nerves of the first game were showing early in the first half. The Vikings team used their size to plough over the try line. Our boys found their feet, and their 'go forward' and finished the half with a flurry of tries and some confidence building play! The second half was action packed with both teams crossing for tries. In a very tight game the Grammar boys played with integrity and skill. Nick Greenberg was convincing in his role as Hooker and made some great plays for tries. Trent Storen showed his passion for the game with many great runs and scoring. Jay Lindsay, as always, played with conviction and enthusiasm. Albert Bain was great in defence and Charlie Templeman showed agility across the field. William Mueller held position throughout the game and Mitchell Fuller was superb going forward for the entire game. Kristan Weereratne showed great attack skills and Patrick Soulsby was a great defender. David Foote played for the ball all game! Congratulations on a great first game. Thank you to all the parents that offered their support on Saturday. |
