Careers Education

They are some of the biggest decisions a boy will ever have to make.

Where shall I study? What should I study?
What kind of work do I want to do?
What am I capable of becoming?
Where can I best contribute my talents and energies and intellect?
What if I make a mistake and want to change direction?

How can I make my dreams come true?

Moving into our complicated, ever-changing world is a daunting prospect: the vast number and range of choices available in tertiary study; an economy boasting nearly full employment; new jobs being invented daily, the concept of multiple careers, globalization of the workforce - it's not hard to see that everyone needs some help making these vital decisions.

Here in the Careers Office we know there are no quick fixes but there are many ways we can help and lots we can do. We have a wealth of information, expertise, advice and experience to offer the boys as they work through the myriad choices available to them.

We know that it is unreasonable to expect many young men at this stage in their lives to know (a) the ever-increasing range of opportunities out there and (b) to have sufficient in-depth experience of the world of work to make informed decisions.

That's why the Careers Office is always open and our advice is tailored to meet the needs and requirements of each young man. We aim to inspire and inform, educate and encourage.
