About the Primary School

From the Preschool classes of our Early Learning Centre to Year 6 in the Junior School, the boys and girls at Canberra Grammar Primary School experience a secure, happy and stimulating environment in which they are encouraged and supported in achieving their potential.

Our vision is underpinned by a belief in the holistic nature of education. Solid teaching in numeracy and literacy is complemented by an extensive specialist program, which provides opportunities for the children to learn and develop new skills across a range of subjects and settings. The curriculum is carefully constructed and sequenced and draws upon the New South Wales syllabus and Australian Capital Territory curriculum framework. Exciting opportunities for learning abound and our students love to share their work with each other, their teachers and parents.

Our classrooms are resource-rich and technologically enhanced learning environments including interactive whiteboards and computer pods. Artists in residence and excursions broaden the curriculum while our enrichment program offers students both support and extension in their learning.

We are proud of our school, but even prouder of our students and see their education as a real partnership between home and school.
